SAT, FEB 6 – WORKDAY AT THE VETERANS PEACE GARDEN IN HARRISBURG – Join volunteers at the corner of Jenkins and Tuttle streets to transform this city lot into a community garden and park for neighborhood veterans. WED, FEB 10 – WEDNESDAY WORKSHOPS AT RED CLAY MARKET: “FRESH HERB SAUCES” – Chef Charleen Tinley of Culinary Connections will walk you through the preparation and tasting of a few fresh herb sauces that will make your meals pop! SAT, FEB 13 – 200 IN HARRISBURG RAISED BED PROJECT – Here’s a weekend opportunity to help us install free raised bed vegetable gardens at individual families’ homes throughout the neighborhood of Harrisburg in Augusta. 9am-1pm. We feed our volunteers afterwards! Big thanks to Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church for helping us spearhead this effort for 2016.

WED, FEB 17 – WEDNESDAY WORKSHOPS AT RED CLAY MARKET: “KEEPING BACKYARD CHICKENS” – Beloved chicken farmer Laurie Ritchie of JandL Farm & Stables will offer a workshop for beginners … just in time for spring chicks! Free, sponsored by Augusta Locally Grown, 5pm-6:3pm. Address is 4460 Washington Road, Evans.

THU, FEB 18 – 200 IN HARRISBURG RAISED BED PROJECT – Yep! We’re determined to get all these beds installed in time for spring planting! 9am-1pm.

SAT, FEB 20 – ICEBOX MINISTRIES CAMPUS WORKDAY – There’s so much going on in the transformation of this urban farm campus … and your help is very much appreciated. Tasks this day include exterior painting and tidying of the campus gardens in time for spring. Contact Rebecca to RSVP at rebeccavl@outlook.com. Lunch provided for volunteers!

WED, FEB 24 – WEDNESDAY WORKSHOPS AT RED CLAY MARKET: “KNIFE SKILLS” – Chef Erica Chaney, head culinary instructor at Helm College, and owner/founder of the Red Clay Market, will teach knife skills for adults who are serious about cooking. THU, FEB 25 – FARM TO SCHOOL SUMMIT WITH GEORGIA ORGANICS IN COLUMBUS, GA – ALG will be taking a group of local educators to the Farm to School Summit in Columbus, GA. The workshop is only $15, taught by top notch folks doing this nationwide.

FRI, FEB 26 – GEORGIA ORGANIC CONFERENCE – A whole campaign of folks from Food Oasis Augusta will attend this wonderful weekend event of pure fun and food. If you’re not already enrolled, go to georgiaorganics.org to sign up!
