Joyful Noise Acres Farm:  The market is open for ordering.

It has been such a nice week,,,we have enjoyed such beautiful weather, our meals have been taken on a simplicity so that the flavors of summer shine through and evening walks are more pleasant in the coolness.
We have an abundance of bones and organ meat this week to get you started making broth. It is the basis for so many wanderful soups, including summer squash soup and curried vegetable soups. Add a spicy pepper to bring up the heat which actually cools your body.
New this week is Zesty Italian Sausage from Joyful Noise Acres Farm. Grab a pound or two to add an extra layer of flavor to your pizza, meatballs or lasagna. The seasoning blend does not have any added chemicals – just herbs, pepper and salt.
Holden Creek Farm delivered more chickens and leg quarters, perfect for the grill. We also have fresh ground lamb and lamb chops available this week.
Sam at Cedar Rock Dairy asks that we be careful to have the metal flat lid on all our jars. If you don’t it will not seal well, it will go sour more quickly. I have asked him to replace any missing lids to protect your milk but he will be charging the customer $0.40 per lid to replace since he has to buy the lids. Please don’t forget your lids!

Blessings to each of you and thank you for supporting your local farmers and artisans.

Champaign, OH:  Weblog Entry

You belong among the wildflowers…
You belong in a boat out at sea…
Sail away, kill off the hours…
You belong somewhere you feel free…
(Tom Petty – Wildflowers)

This week has shown me many things about myself, about what I hold dear, why I am involved in this local food movement, and why I love my circle of friends who let me be…well, just be me.

First…I was reunited with friends who have drifted out of my life for many reasons. Many of the reasons are just as simple as their paths took them off on new adventures, some drifted off to find themselves, and some just lost connection to me. In a sort of Cosmic pattern, I ended up with chance encounters with some, chance texts by others, and messages of some returning to me for a visit.

My heart holds all that is dear to me in a very tight, loyal, love filled bond. To see each of these friends drift back into my life, drew me to tears, and laughter, and hope. Each of these lovelies means so much to me. Each of them was a part of my life, in different ages and stages.

But, what has always been constant, has been our dedication to friendship, to a wildflower kind of relationship that allows us to catch right back up where we all left off, years ago.

Just like this little dedication I feel for this local love, for this little local market, for all of the love and friendship that has been poured into this market. It has taken hard work, laughter, tears, ideas, and a healthy dose of trust that we are always doing the best we can do for this market, that we are upholding this market, and that we do everything to make this market grow.

The market is always here. Year round. We see some customers, each week. We see some, every couple of months. We see some over the years. But, the never ending vibe is that the market is a constant. A light of local. A friend when you need us. A market that wants to be here for the times that you may need us.

We hold each customer dear to our hearts. We are here, ready to welcome you home, ready to say hello, ready to make your life a happy place!

Get to know us, once again…shop with us, let us help you through the busy weeks.

We’ve got it all for you, and we just want to welcome you back into our local market of love…you belong among the wildflowers…let us help you back into the bonds of local shopping…

Peace, Love, Good Vibes…
Cosmic Pam

New Vendor: Sentient Collective

Introducing Sentient Collective! Sentient Collective’s goal is to connect people with fresh, local, sustainability grown food. Knate and Sam are on a mission to steward as much green-space as possible for the production of clean local food!
From the Spring of 2015 Sentient Collective has been stewarding the land many of you know as BeeBerry Farms. Some of you lucky few may have had the opportunity to come out to the farm and meet Knate and Sam! Sentient collective is now managing all commercial and agricultural operations on BeeBerry Farms! Many of the items that were currently listed under BeeBerry Farms have been switched over to Sentient Collective. We just wanted you to know of the new name change as to not cause confusion. Kevin from BeeBerry Farms will still be part of the co-op but will be launching other products in the near future.

Old99Farm Market:  Aug 13 Earth Overshoot Day

In 2015, 13 August is Earth Overshoot Day. The day marks the estimated calendar date when humanity’s demand on the planet’s ecological services (which produce renewable resources and assimilate wastes) outstrips what the Earth can supply. This means that for the rest of the year, we are taking more than is regenerated, operating in Overshoot. Last year, Earth Overshoot Day was August 19th. We first went into Overshoot in the late 1970s, and since then the day has crept ever earlier on the calendar. This means we are using the ecological resources of just over 1.5 Earths.

Meeting the challenge of providing for all humanity’s needs within the limits of what our Earth can provide will require a radical restructuring of the global economy. In this post I will discuss how a post-growth economy based around not-for-profit enterprise can help us get to One Planet Living.

StPete.LocallyGrown.Net:  Volunteer Needed for Raw Dairy Pickup

St. Pete Locally Grown Market Needs Volunteer to Pick Up Raw Dairy

Raw Dairy Lovers:
I didn’t think this could wait for Monday. Our recent plan for getting raw dairy to you from The Dancing Goat has been cancelled due to a well deserved promotion and additional responsibilities for our would-be volunteer. Congratulations Miss Carol!

I am back asking for a volunteer to pick up dairy in Oldsmar every other Thursday afternoon. Pam says picking up anytime after Noon until 4 or 5pm will work well. Volunteer will pick up crates (2 or 3 to transport the egg cartons) and 2 or 3 large styrofoam coolers/ice at our home on Thursday on the way to Pam’s. There is a back up person who is ready to help on an emergency basis with 3 or 4 days notice whenever the primary volunteer has something come up.

We will not be able to continue carrying The Dancing Goat’s products as of Oct. 1st without a volunteer to do the pick up. Only THREE Markets remain to train someone to fill this spot. Please respond to make arrangements for training with Nathan next week (on 8/20) if at all possible.

Thank you!

Only the Best,
Tina, YOUR Market Manager
