Spa City Local Farm Market Co-op:  The Market is now open for odering

The market is open for ordering. Orders may be placed until 9 pm. Tuesday the 25th for pickup Friday the 28th.
Due to this market falling between Christmas and New Year’s, we don’t know how many orders will be placed. As many members may be out of town for the holiday season, it’s possible that the number of orders placed may be very low.
As many of our vendors have to travel significant distances and our volunteers give a good portion of their day, we decided we need at least 10 orders placed by Monday evening. If we have not met this minimum, the market will be canceled.
Last year the holidays occurred right on the weekend which interfered enough with volunteers’ plans that we didn’t schedule those markets at all. Since we are uncertain how many members may be affected this year, we’re going to try for the 28th if we have enough orders to make it feasible.
If you do plan on ordering, please do so by Monday evening. I will send out a notice Monday evening verifying if the market is canceled or if there will be pickup on Friday the 28th.

Statesboro Market2Go:  The Market is OPEN!

Merry Christmas! The market is open!

I had a great time tonight with dinner guests, and they were so impressed with the vegetables I served, fresh from Market2Go. We had roasted sweet potatoes, carrots, beets, and onions (all roasted together in a 9×13 pan) and steamed broccoli. I have finally figured out the secret to roasting veggies. Cut them in about 1 inch pieces, and keep the sizes consistent so everything will be ready at the same time. Spray your dish with cooking spray, then cover the veggies with about 1/4 cup good olive oil. Toss to coat, and roast at 425 degrees about 30 minutes. Take out and stir, then continue roasting until veggies are tender, about 15 more minutes. So good!

Have you noticed our new seafood offerings? We’ve always had salmon, but now we’ve added shrimp and halibut. Be sure to get your fresh seafood for New Year’s Eve from us!

Wishing you all a beautiful Christmas!

Merry Shopping!!
