United States Virgin Islands:  VI locally grown week of 1/6

Good morning St. Croix! Some late Christmas winds are in full force up on the farm, and the cool, dry air is so refreshing!

This week at the market we are selling a small amount of Certified Organic ‘Caribe’ cilantro and sweet thai basil. Wouldn’t that be the start of a delicious soup or curry?

I hope you’re all recovering well from carnival last night. We are ready to start a new season of growing.

Green Fork Farmers Market:  Weekly Product List

Dear Green Fork Farmers Market Customers,

Happy New Year everyone!

It’s time to place your order for this week’s market. There’s a lot to choose from—eggs, meat, honey, baked goods, bath and beauty products, olives, vegetables, microgreens.

It’s a good idea to preorder, as some items are in limited supply right now. Then you can pop in to the market to pick up your order on Wednesday from 4-7 pm in the Breezeway at Nightbird Books. If you aren’t able to place an order by Monday at midnight, you can also shop at the farmers’ tables at the market on Wednesday.

Everything we offer is of the highest quality and is naturally grown or handmade with as many local, natural ingredients as possible. So go ahead and look through the product list and place your order, and we’ll see you on Wednesday!

TriLakes (NY) Winter Farmers Market:  Rehoboth Homestead update

Apologies – my eyes did not see that there were still salad mixes listed from last spring. The only salad greens this month are spinach and the small kale leaves. If you ordered salad mix you may get an automated email when I remove it from your order.

If you want to add spinach or kale, you can edit you order, or know that the salad mix was zeroed out and either make a new order for spinach or just email me at and I’ll make the change for you.

Again, apolopies. I have been spending so much time staring at the computer designing flyers, brochures, and major redo of our farm website that I just missed the salad greens checkbox.

TriLakes (NY) Winter Farmers Market:  buy from local farms - online ordering to Lake Placid

Happy New Year! We are planning to offer our winter online ordering with delivery to Green Goddess once a month this winter. Order now through Monday evening (the sooner the better for me to wash and pack, and eggs are first come first served). Pickup will be this Wednesday from 3 to 6 at Green Goddess’ new location in the Placid Pond Complex by Hannaford. Please make checks payable to either Rehoboth Homestead or cash.

This month you may choose products from Harmony Hills Farmstead and Rehoboth Homestead, since Asgaard Farm is taking a good vacation.

The forecast keeps changing, usually not for the better, but at this point it looks like I’ll be able to harvest spinach from the hoophouse Tuesday.

We hope you are having an enjoyable winter, and are looking forward to seeing you again. – Beth Spaugh
