New Cheeses From Orobianco
Ciliegine-Fresh mozzarella cheese mini – balls 1 oz. each. Perfect for a salad mixed with cherry tomatoes, tuna or black olives.

Smoked Scamorza-This is an aged SMOKED cheese of the same family as mozzarella. It is dryer and tastier. It is aged for a minimum of two weeks and lasts up to one month. It is perfect in sandwiches, as a pizza topping or simply with crackers.

Honey Pots B&B Enterprises has handmade honey pots. These are not made by Bob but by a friend, Sue from Malsnee Pottery. You might have met her at the Yellow Daisy Festival this year. They are beautiful and make a perfect gift with Bob’s honey. Malsnee Pottery has been a family endeavor consisting of wheel turned stoneware pottery since 1991. The pottery is turned to create light weight functional as well as decorative pieces. To add to the uniqueness of the pottery the Malsnees make their own glazes to produce the unusual rainbow of colors on each piece. The designs and patterns are all hand painted.

Upcoming Event: Info session with Kissimmee Green Place!

Kissimmee Green Place farmers are extremely passionate in growing quality foods, fresh for Homegrown members!

“We are growing natural and organic because of the lack of availability and affordability for vine-ripened, fresh picked and locally grown produce. At the present time, even if you purchase natural and organic vegetables at your local supermarkets, more than likely it is being shipped from California or Mexico. No matter where it originates, the cost of packing, cooling, shipping and distributing this produce from such a distance is why the prices are so high. So, if your produce is being shipped so far, more than likely your “fresh” vegetables are at least one week old.”

Come to the coop store for an educational session with Kissimme’s Green Place! Kissimmee’s green place grows their fruits and vegetables in a very unique way. Learn about this unique was of growing on Friday, December 7th from 5pm-7pm!

30-300-30 Fundraiser!

In our 3rd annual December fund drive, we seek YOUR donation of just $30!

We are recruiting 300 people to each donate $30 in the next 30 days to meet our fundraising goal, which will fund improvements to the Co-op that allow us to better serve our members and our farmers.

This year, supportive local businesses have teamed up with Homegrown to create a Match Fund, where each community contribution will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, to help us reach our $18,000 goal!

Vista Marketplace:  What's in the Basket?

Boy, did the baskets look good this week! Our local farmers really fixed us up with some nice looking greens and root crops. We had Collards, Turnip Greens with turnips, Beets, and Mustard Greens. All freeze really well if you have any leftovers. We rounded off the baskets with zuchinni, cucumbers, red onions, bell peppers, corn, lemon, tangerines, pineapple, and apples. Several people ordered eggs and bacon from Hanna Hands Farm. You never know what you’re gonna get, but it’s always a pleasant surprise!
If you want to place an order for next Wed. 12th, please do so by Monday 6:00pm. Check out all the new vendors or just pick a category and review what’s available.
VISIT US AT THE MARKET AT WHALEY

We Are One Farmers Market:  Pre-Order Closes Tonight, See You Friday

If you haven’t had a chance to stop down yet and visit us, we hope you will soon – it is a massive display of local foods and farmers. Last week MAPLE COTTON CANDY showed up from Gage Hill Sugar Shack, and there was a wonderful array of vegetables, Spanikopita, dog treats… its always a treat to stop in!
