Bundle of Joy! “Columbina” made her appearance this past Monday morning around 8:00 a.m., just as Juan was leaving to take their youngest to school! Pilar, Juan and Sandra scurried to help Fannie keep her warm, wrapping her in blankets and making sure she got some of Momma’s good colostrum, full of antibodies and minerals to give her a healthy start! At this writing, she is doing great and is just as cute as can be! Hanging out with her Momma, Jacinta, Itolla and Dinah and exploring, exploring, exploring! Look for her the next time you are at the Farm.

This past week has found many other changes at Rancho Alegre Farm. The last 6 months have been all about sprucing up and adding to the “stations” for Field Trips, AgriToursim and Homeschoolers. As the final touches are applied, preparations for a HUGE Fall Festival for the Friends and Families of Students at Gwinnett Technical College have kept everyone in super BUSY mode these last two weeks!

Wow! If you have a minute the next time you are at the Farm, take a walk around to the back of the house and check out the newly structured and planted Garden! RaShauld, our resident Farmer has been tirelessly working to finish this project and soon we will all be enjoying the fruits of his labors!

Pop over to the Market and check out Ricky’s offerings of Winter greens – and the radishes are Yummy! Have you every had sautéed radishes? Mmmm good! Ask me for the recipe!

Mary, from Patchwork Pasture is gearing up to offer ORGANIC Spices! Can’t wait to see her selection! She also offers, Baked Goods, Legumes, Flours and cultures.

Need a special soap for that special someone – or YOU? Check out Monica’s Soaps, Candles and Lotions. Her company is D-Candles.

Cool and crisp mornings, the “Fall back” time change, little ghosts and goblins come and gone and time marches on! Soon we will celebrate Thanksgiving and all too soon the Holidays will overwhelm us with countless “to-dos” – between our “must-dos”, “if-I-have-time-dos” and “gee-I-would-really-like-dos”, it is essential that we carve out time for ourselves. Time to just relax, to take in the beauty of the moment, time to simply “BE”. Live in the moment!

Have a wonderful week!

Joyful thoughts,
