Sorghum Barbeque Sauce
From Miami County Locally Grown

Our variation of my husband’s one-time favorite BBQ sauce. Now the only recipe we ever use… very tangy!
Source: Confederate Memorial Day Recipes - our variation (Entered by Lee Ruff)
Serves: This lasts us several meals... depends how much sauce people like on their BBQ pizza or pork/chicken sandwiches,
14 oz ketchup
1/2 cup sorghum syrup
1 cup oil
1 tsp drymustard
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp garlic salt
2 T chili sauce or Jimmy Nardello pepper paste
Step by Step Instructions
- Mix all together in a small saucepot, heat until combined, and enjoy!
- I have canned this, using our homemade ketchup, and there's nothing like opening a jar of homemade BBQ sauce for pulled pork or shredded chicken wrapped in a pita.
