Homestyle Sausage Gravy

Serves: 4 servings


Ingredients
1 pound sausage
3 TBSP butter
1/4 cup flour
3 cup milk

Step by Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, cook and lightly brown the sausage over medium heat. Be sure to break sausage down into small crumbles while it cooks.
  2. After cooking, there should be 1 tablespoon of sausage grease in the skillet. Pour out any excess.
  3. Add butter to skillet and stir until melted.
  4. Dust sausage with flour, stirring frequently, until sausage is evenly covered. Allow sausage to cook for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Pour milk into the skillet and stir. Cook for another 5-10 minutes, stirring constantly, until gravy thickens to desired consistency.
  6. Serve immediately.
