Steamed Brussels Sprouts

Vegetarian!

Ingredients
1 pound Brussels sprouts
1 tablespoon Butter (optional)
1 1/2 cups Water
Salt & Pepper to taste

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Rinse the Brussels sprouts with cold water and remove any discolored or overly loose leaves. Cut the tough stems away and cut the Brussels sprouts in half.
  2. Put the Brussels sprouts into a large pan and add just enough water to cover them. Add some salt, then cover the pan and bring it to a boil.
  3. Lower the heat and let the Brussels sprouts steam for 5 minutes
  4. If desired, toss the Brussels sprouts with butter, salt, and pepper before serving.
