GFM :  Look at this!

Our vendors have been busy harvesting their crops and creating their crafts. Each week we see a new item or two at the farmers market so don’t miss it. You can place your order online and pick it up on Saturday.
Don’t forget the fresh savings specials we have that go along with the EBT cards. Be sure and ask how you can save even more money with the new fresh Savings Program.

Hope to see you Saturday at the Market!

Old99Farm Market:  Old 99 Farm, week of June 26 2016

This weekend is Canada Day celebrations; in order to keep things simple, there is no change to market day: place your orders by Friday noon, pick up friday 4 to 6 or by arrangement. I remind that if you order and forgot to come, you still made a purchase.

New crops are coming in: green garlic, chard, kale, beet tops, parsley. Asparagus is over for the season, but I saw the first raspberries ripening today. Some tomatoes are ready.

As of June 26th , we can offer the following crops: young chard, beet tops, green garlic (can cook like leek), rhubarb, kale, collards, arugula, chives, and herbs: dill, sweet cicely, bronze fennel and lovage. Fresh bone broth this week, frozen in 1 L pouches. There are frozen quiches in the freezer.

See you Friday,
Healthy local inseason eating,
Ian and Cami

Foothills Market:  The Market is Slowing Down

Sorry I didn’t get a message out to you yesterday – I was stripping blueberry plants in the morning, and time got past me.

We did some evaluation of the patch yesterday, and we’ve decided to cut out the Wednesday market for now. We believe we don’t have enough product at this point (thanks to the heat and dry weather) to support two days per week. We still do have produce for the weekend market, and the little rain shower we got Sunday night should help keep things growing.

I’m sorry for any inconvenience. Look for our product listing on Thursday morning.

Thank you for your business!

Fisher's Produce:  Sweet Corn Bristow and OKC

Hello Friends,

Our Natural sweet corn is at its peak! Nice big sweet ears, perfect for roasting or freezing. Quite clean as far as worm damage for being non-go, not sprayed. We have plenty picked this morning. 20.00/bushel (60 ears) or 5 bushels for 90.00 here at the farm.

We will be in at the Tractor Supply Parking lot in Bristow this week on Thursday evening from 5:00pm – 6:00pm.

We are interested to arrange a truck load of sweet corn to Edmond/OKC this week as well. Probably tomorrow evening. Please text 918-639-0244 if you are interested.

Blessings,

Luke

We are definitely into Summertime production which in FL means many farms are taking their down time or dark period and only growing cover crops. The aquaponic system is still producing lettuce and the Okra is here, the celery is on the way out.

Doug has listed the his Herb Lovers Box on the Market this week! This week’s Box contains:

…a few other notes…please read

Greg Hutchins of Heritage Farm has added Zephyr Squash and ‘Easter Egg’ Radishes, Rainbow Carrots, Cucumbers and Tomatoes to their offerings this week. There are also a number of specials from Heritage Farm!

This past week, Greg let me know that the processor for his Beef products had a glitch in their software that controls the printing of the labels as meat is weighed on the scale. The FDA had changed some parameters for the processor and although the processor’s label would print, he was unable to print labels for Heritage Farm. Obviously, packaging could not STOP in order for this glitch to be remedied. The Beef Products that you receive may have a label that says: Processed by (IN TEENY TINY LETTERS) Wilson Farm Meat Processing (IN LARGE LETTERS)! The label does make it appear that the product is from Wilson Farm; however, you can be assured that the meat is from Heritage Farm and is of the excellent quality we all know to expect! If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 404-432-4337.

Don’t forget your Bakery goodies! My Daily Bread offerings include all types of Organic Bakery products. In addition, Dabrielle makes some dynamite Cheese Spreads and Dips! She also has some delicious, plump and juicy Blackberries listed this week. These will not be around long, so grab them this week. Also, remember that My Daily Bread will be on vacation next week! Stock up!

For the Gluten Free crowd, No Gluten Inc. has you covered with Breads, Cakes, Cheesecakes, Cookies, Rolls, Snack Bars, Bakery Mixes and Sweet Breads! Be sure and check out our Bakers! Just like our Growers, our Bakers are truly the ‘cream of the crop’!

That is all I have for now… please get your orders in so we can meet minimums this week!
