TriLakes (NY) Winter Farmers Market: Trilakes Winter Market open
Good chilly evening. The market is open for orders through Monday, with pickup at the new Green Goddess location in (northeast corner of the Placid Pond complex, in front of Hannford).
I apologize that I had not looked for all the automated messages and corrected them last time. Pickup is from 3 to 6 on Wednesday. Please bring cash or make check payable to “Rehoboth Homestead”. I am running it through our farm account and passing Harmony Hills and Asgaard money through to them. I recommend you not write the check until you get to the pickup – fresh greens are very “iffy” – this is the coldest/cloudiest winter we’ve had since growing winter greens and it is not nearly as “productive” or “harvestable” as the last few years have been.
We do still have some great veggies, and lots of fresh eggs, wonderful meat, soap, cheese, salsas, etc.

Good gravy it is cold! Sorry to always be chatting about the weather but we sure have seen a wide range of weather diversity these days! Enough about that I guess!
Don’t tell my husband but I’ve spent some time with another man today! Check out The Bayou Gardener. While we have just met, I’m in love already. Looks like his videos, while I’ll admit might be a bit juvenile for the experienced gardener, are full of great suggestions and methods and will help all of us learn and become better at our craft. If you plan to make this year your first to try a garden, spend some time with my new boyfriend and you’ll see why I’m so fond! I’ll share him (but just today;)
A shout out too to our newest vendor Michelle Comer with Homecomer Traditions. You might know Michelle from Mechanicsburg with her soft pretzels, unless you are late to the market as she always sells out early. Those pretzels are addictive! My children go nuts for them! Find her under the Baked Goods tab and support Michelle!
I want to give a huge “Atta Girl” to Carla Miller from JC Growers. She is so on it already that she is asking for feedback from her customers on what they would like her to grow for them. It is only February and she is planning her garden. I put her on a pedestal because it is important if you want to eat something new this summer or fall, tell your growers what you want. They are all eager to please! Also, if there is another product, herb, meat, dairy or whatnot, please mention it to them. I assure you there might be others who want the same item and our vendors aim to please! Great Job Carla and Jenny! Superb!
Don’t forget, the market is now open even though it is Friday! Shop now through Tuesday! And please, if you enjoy the market, please tell a friend and offer to help them get set up with us. Our valued vendors work really hard to provide food for us and we need to continually support them so they can support us. The more we shop, the more they can plant, grow, expand their business, etc. It is the circle of shopping local!

Our Riverwood market has a new student intern on-board. Welcome Kenzie! This Greenbrier student is a self-described environmentalist who wrote that she is drawn to the work of ALG because of its commitment to sustainability. We will certainly aim to keep her busy in that area of interest.
