We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!
Conyers Locally Grown: avaliable Friday 18th and
I hope this funds you all doing well. For those who were not at last weeks markets, my father Brady Bala was in a bad car accident(Tuesday 9th) and is in Grady Hospital. He has a broken femur-a high leg break on his left leg and 5 broken ribs on his right side with lots of cuts and bruises. He will be realeased from Grady some time this week we hope. Our farm products will be avaliable this week however, he will not be able to attend the markets for the next week or so. We will also not be able to get milk from Milky Way until my father can find a replacement to make the trip. If anyone would like to volonteer until he recovers that would be great. Double B Farm will also need some volonteer help around the farm for the next few months to get ready for spring while my father get’s better. This week we will have lots of great produce. The lettuce, carrots, collards, broccoli raab all look great. We have a few more honey bears avaliable. The mushrooms also look good this week along with the Jerusalem Artichoke. We are also excited about listing our half hogs again. We have 22 piglets and plan to make 10 avaliable in the program. The meat will be from heritage hogs as we have a mulefoot boar bread to our variety of sows. The meat will be darker than traditional pork with lots of great flavor. The half shares will be avaliable for 300 dollars each. The finished sizes will be larger than our previous shares since we are using a larger breed of pigs. Taylor Organic has lots of great produce avaliable this week to go along with some wonderfull flat creek cheese.
Remember you have at least 21 meals to plan for this week, 28+ if you include your snacks. We hope some of your selections come from our efforts. We enjoy being your farmers.
Thank you for all your support. Please remember to have your orders placed by 8PM on Tuesday. We will see you on Friday between 5PM and 7PM at Copy Central (1264 Parker Road, Conyers) and don’t forget to share us with a friend.

ALFN Local Food Club: The Market Openeth!
Good Morning and welcome to Food Club, the Locavore Grocery Store.
In these times of inclement weather and political yabber, isn’t it nice to just order some good food and eat that good food? Better yet, isn’t it nice to eat good food with other people, including the folks who, I don’t know, grew/raised that food? Hah! Now you’ll be wanting to join us for our Growers’ Potluck.
The Market is open. Greens a’plenty, and I’ve included a recipe for Coconut Curry Greens. Check it out below. The snow pea tendrils and kohlrabi from Ratchford Farms caught my eye.
Enjoy your ordering!
1. Coconut curry greens
Wash and pick a couple pounds of greens
Sautee a diced onion in the oil of your choice (virgin coconut oil is a great choice here)
Add 1 tsp salt
When the onion is golden brown, add a few cloves of minced garlic
After one minute, add 1 tsp curry powder (some folks may wantto adjustthis up, or add cayenne for more ooomph)
Deglaze with one can full-fat coconut milk
Add greens and cook for 30 min or so

Stone County, AR: Stone County Locally Grown Online News
Happy New Year, Everyone!
First, we’re writing to thank you for your support during our first months of operation In 2012. You hung in there with us as we all learned how to sell and shop online for local produce and other offerings from local vendors.
We look forward to kicking this season off with plants for your Spring plantings and more produce and offerings that will follow soon thereafter. We’re proud that you’ve joined us in supporting our local growers and our own health and well-being. We’ve taken important first steps in making Stone County a more sustainable community.
The next reason we’re writing is to say we’re going to extend our “break” and keep the Market closed until Sunday, February 10th. This will give us time to close our 2012 season and prepare for 2013.
We look forward to serving you!
