TONS OF NEWS THIS WEEK

CFM BOARD MEETING will take place this Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Community Center.
-———————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Southern Sustainable Agriculture Working Group (SSAWG) presents:
Practical Tools and Solutions for Sustaining Family Farms Conference, January 14-17, 2015 in Mobile, AL. For all the details, go to: www.ssawg.org/january-2015-conference/
-————————————————————————————————————————————————————
MAILING IN CHECKS
Dear Customers, please remember to send your checks to arrive before the following market. Kir has to post them to your account prior to market order closing, i.e. Monday at 10 a.m.
-————————————————————————————————————————————————————
CALLING ALL CUSTOMERS
Before we know it, the holidays will be here. It’s time to start thinking about holiday gifts and what you would like to see offered on the market. E-mail us your “wish lists” and we’ll see what our vendors can do!
-————————————————————————————————————————————————————
ONLY 4 MORE WEEKS
After October 28th, the market will no longer offer home delivery. Perhaps you could arrange with a friend/neighbor to pick up one week, and you take the next week.

You could also leave your order behind, but it MUST be picked up within 24 hours, i.e. 6 p.m. Wednesday. If the order is not picked up, it will be disposed of, and you must still pay for it. Please remember, other markets do not offer this service; we are trying to be as accommodating as possible within the restraints of the Community Center. As of this writing, there is still no freezer in the Center, so it is imperative your orders be picked up.

If you or someone you know may be interested in delivering to customers in Monteagle or Sewanee, please call Linda at 931-592-8384.
-————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Don’t forget…
If you do not receive an order confirmation within 5 minutes, your order has NOT been placed in the system. E-MAIL OR CALL US to get the problem solved so you will not be disappointed on market day.

Please remember the market closes at 10 a.m. on Monday; therefore, your order must be completed and placed, and you should be signed out of the software.
-————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
If you have any questions, please call (931.592.3399, no voice mail) or e-mail (cumberlandfm@gmail.com) us.

Northeast Georgia Locally Grown:  Northeast Georgia Locallygrown Availability for Oct 3

Good evening Locavores
The evening is cool and fall is coming in a big way this weekend. Here in Tiger we are expecting a low temperature of about 37 Sunday morning.
Located at the head of Bettys Creek and lower slopes of Pickens Nose Mtn, Leah Lake Farm is preparing for a low of 34 degrees. Leah Lake is taking this week off from the market to prepare hoop houses for frost and also plant garlic and winter crops. We will miss their greens but, they will be back next week.
The cool temperatures will make the greens a little sweeter as well as wild delicacies like persimmons and fox grapes. This would be a good weekend for some hiking and wild foraging.
Put a blanket on the bed and enjoy the weekend, starting with foraging on Locallygrown.

Hello all,

Sorry the market was opened so late today.

I am getting ready for the Easley Farmer’s Market as tomorrow is the final day for the season. I am printing 100 postcards to hand out regarding carolinafoothills so with luck we will gain some new customers/sellers.

Anyway, as always there are many items to check out so buy, buy, buy.

Take care,

Susan.
