McColloms Market:  Fresh Chickens from Harmony Hills

Hi All:

I’m extending FFFN until late tonight to accommodate this last minute offer from Michelle. Please let me know directly by responding to this email if you want to take advantage of it.

Greetings Melinda~

It did not cross my mind until now-just got done with chickens! You could offer fresh chickens if you want to send out another email. They are on the larger size-I have not weighed them yet; however, beautiful, plump birds for $4.25/lb. Just let me know if this would be a hassle as I will have them all summer long at the market. I just thought I would extend the offer to include it in your order!

Sincerely,

Michelle

Martin's Farmstand:  June 9

It is another beautiful day in the life of a farmer. There is 100s of lbs of tomatoes, cucumbers and zucchini to pick from the greenhouse. Outside there is lots of radish, green onions, asparagus, lettuce and more. We have grown all this fine food for you. I hope you enjoy eating it as we have enjoyed growing it. The online farmers market is open for orders or just come and get it here at the farm. We are open 10 am- 6 pm Mon- Sat. Daniel

Hi, everyone! This week’s market is nearly twice the size of last week’s! Yea!! Please come for pickup, if at all possible, by 6:00 p.m. We will start calling all those who have not picked up as of 5:30, so make sure the number you have listed in your profile is accurate for that time.

Also, we regret that we are not able to offer the convenience of Debit/Credit/EBT options for another 2 or 3 weeks, as we are changing processors. We will let you know as soon as these are available again.

See you tomorrow a market!

Searcy, AR:  Fresher vegetables save money

Good morning! Purchasing produce at your local farmers market is very economical. It not only helps the local economy, it also keeps money in your pocket. The market provides some of the freshest produce you can buy. I have found that it lasts 2 to 3 times as long as produce purchased at the grocery store. Giving a large window of time in which to use the produce, instead of throwing it out with the garbage. Which saves money. The market will be taking orders until 10 pm.

Carolina Foothills, SC:  Monday morning Reminder!

http://carolinafoothills.locallygrown.net/market

Happy Monday !

Thankful for the rain this weekend. We sure needed it.

Visited Baird Family Farm yesterday. As I entered the main entrance I was greeted by two beautiful milk goats munching on creek forage. In the field behind them are Beautiful 100 foot long raised beds filled with all kinds of organically grown food. A circle of herbs and flowers catch your eyes as you walk beyond the raised beds to spaded field filled with soy beans, sweet potatoes and more. Across the creek and past the Farm Cabin is a nice outside kitchen with a view of more raised beds full of Assorted Greens,, carrots turnips, radishes to name just a few . And there is more. Across another bridge with large creek is yet another massive field. The soil is so dark and sweet. Watermelons , tomatoes , squashes and more adorn this field. With Hawk flying overhead , rushing water over rocks and lovely peaceful breeze this farm girl stood in appreciation of all the obvious hard work that went into and continues to create this thriving abundant farm. Fruit and berry orchards on hill sides too! Wow! The land there has been farmed using Bio-Dynamic Practices for over 25 years. The food from this farm is beautiful to look at and highly nutritious. They encourage people to come on out and visit the farm! You may even get put to work.

The Baird Family Farm is looking for farm help. If you are interested please contact Richard Baird directly at 864-436-7773 or email him at db.farmerman@gmail.com

The Market will remain open till 4pm.

Eat Well!

Champaign, OH:  Ruby Tuesday

When you change with every new day
Still I’m gonna miss you…
(Rolling Stones – Ruby Tuesday)

Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday…or, I should say, goodbye, or almost goodbye, to seasonal produce.

I mentioned, earlier, that the asparagus season is just about coming to a close and to get those orders in! Order all that you can and freeze for the winter months!

But, I also just got word that our lovely, seasonal early spring garlic is at it’s end and will not be offered much longer BUT we have the very popular garlic scapes that have come on! Again, these are seasonal and will only be around for a short time!!

The strawberries sold out in the blink of an eye, for this week, and here’s hoping that Steven will have more for next week! Again, you have limited time for these so when you see them, grab your orders!

While I am sending reminders about the seasonal change…grab the fresh herbs and live plants while you still can!!

Greens have sold out but more will be added. Look for not only Strive to add more but also some of our vendors!!

The seasons change, the seasonal produce changes, and while we hate to say goodbye, we look forward to what the next wave of produce we get!!

Make sure to stock up, now!!

Peace and Love,
Cosmic Pam
