Lake Placid Online Farmer's Market:  June Market--Summer is Here!!

Hi everyone,

It’s almost time for the June market…thank you Beth for the “Market Update”!

We will have our first field lettuce salad mix of the year this week. Otherwise, vegetables are VERY late this year. While most of our ducks are firmly setting on clutches of eggs, we do have five in peak egg laying form, so we do have duck eggs. Asgaard Farm has its spring goat milk products – fresh chevre, caramels, etc. North Country Creamery’s cows are out on lush grass, producing great 100% grass-fed yogurt and fresh cheeses. Harmony Hills, Asgaard, and Rehoboth Homestead all have a good supply of free-range/pastured/grass-fed meats, some fed certified organic, non-GMO, soy-free feed.

Look forward to seeing everyone! Hope you are enjoying the warmer weather!

Best,
Christie

MEET THE GROWER
Fox Farm will be partnering with Dogwood Farm at the June 17 Meet the Grower. Dogwood Farm will be providing the sandwich rounds for the pulled pork barbecue featured by Fox Farm who will be showcasing one way its pork can be prepared by offering pulled pork barbecue with a choice of homemade honey cranberry barbecue sauce or homemade Fox Farm barbecue sauce. Samples will be available. Barbecue sandwiches will be served on Dogwood Farm’s sandwich rounds for $6.00.

Fox Farm will also have one-pound containers of pulled pork barbecue with 4 ounces of either sauce for $10.00 (bread is extra with the one pound option). Fox Farm will also bring its freezer and will have pre-frozen one- and two-pound packages of the pulled pork, pork chops and sausage available for sale as well. All frozen meat is in vacuum-sealed bags.

Once again, we’ll be outside for this event. In the event of rain, we’ll be inside.

If you would like to pre-order pulled pork, or if you need a large quantity for a party, please e-mail Marcella at foxfarmtn@gmail.com

Please note that Fox Farm will NOT be on the market June 24, July 1 and 8. Customers who want sausage or pork chops for the 4th of July holiday should order through CFM or stop by and pick up meat at the June 17 Meet the Grower.

Thank you for supporting our farms.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, IT’S TURKEY ORDERING TIME ALREADY! THIS IN FROM FOUNTAIN SPRINGS FARM:

It is time for us to take turkey orders for Thanksgiving. There are turkey deposits on the market for anyone who would like to make sure they have a NON-GMO-fed and pastured-raised, fresh, never frozen, turkey for Thanksgiving. Place your order for a deposit and the deposit comes off the total price of turkey when picked up.

The turkeys are $3.75 per pound and weigh about 12 to 25 lbs. We deliver them the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

When you place your order for a deposit, leave a comment on the weight that you would like. We will get as close as we can.

Thanks so much.
